Half-day Workshops

Happiness & Our Mind

FULLARTON • SUN 18 JUNE • 10AM-1PM • $40 PP

Although everyone has a mind, most of us only have a vague understanding of its nature and functions. We probably know very little about the different types of mind, how they are generated, and what effect they have on our lives. Why is it necessary to understand all this? The reason is that all happiness and suffering depend upon the mind, and so if we want to avoid suffering and find true happiness we need to understand how the mind works and use that understanding to bring our mind under control. Only in this way can we improve the quality of our life, both now and in the future.  Everyone is welcome.

Finding a Meaningful Life

FULLARTON • SUN 16 JULY • 10AM-1PM • $40 PP

What’s the most important, influential, rewarding thing you can do in this life? According to Buddhism it’s to learn how to be truly happy, and to share that experience with others. If we know how to be truly happy, we can be like a wish-fulfilling jewel, with the power to bestow peace and happiness on everyone around us. At this workshop Gen Tsalden will explain how we can live our best, most meaningful life, even in the middle of our busy modern world. Everyone is welcome.
