Urban Retreats

KMC ADELAIDE • 24-25 FEB 2024 • 730AM - 530PM

During a retreat we reduce our normal worldly activities and concentrate for a period of time on developing spiritual qualities and peaceful minds – finding happiness from within.

Amitayus is the Buddha of long life, merit and wisdom – the main qualities we need for the happiness of enlightenment. Spending a couple of days in retreat on Amitayus at the start of the year is considered very auspicious for what the whole of the rest of the year will bring.

‘Amitayus’ means ‘Infinite Life’ and signifies that by relying on this holy being we will not only overcome the dangers of untimely death in this life, but eventually through Tantric practice attain the pure illusory body – a vajra body that is permanently free from ageing, sickness and death.

By engaging in the practice of Buddha Amitayus we also accumulate profound wisdom and extensive merit.

There are multiple sessions a day. Each session lasts for one and a half hours and consists of chanted prayers sung in English and silent meditation. You are welcome to come to any or all of the sessions, and there is no charge. Please see table for more session details.
